The snowboard film premiere season is well underway in Colorado and with temperatures dropping the snowboarders are coming out to get stoked on the upcoming season. Last night in Denver was the At Once Productions “High Life” and Echo Mountain “Echodemic Volume 2” Premiere at the Gothic Theatre. These are the local Colorado films with local riders who are pumped to be showcased and are actually at the premiere with friends. [singlepic id=6299 w=400 h=300 float=] With Echo Mountain as a sponsor, the first 100 people to the premiere received a free day pass to Echo Mountain. I haven’t been to Echo Mountain yet, so now with a free ticket I’m looking forward to hitting up the terrain park resort here in CO. [singlepic id=6301 w=400 h=300 float=] We had a good crew of people to watch the film together. Once inside we made our way to the bar to get the drinks for the night. [singlepic id=6300 w=400 h=300 float=] The evening started with Gag’s being the MC [singlepic id=6302 w=400 h=300 float=] Echo Mountain’s “Echodemic” opened the show with a mix of skiers and riders throwing down at the features that Echo Mountain has throughout the season.
So last night in Steamboat Springs, Colorado was the first film premiere of the season. Thanks to the Steamboat Mountain Film Festival we get a couple movies to watch in our resort town. TGR Films are always the popular film premiere in Steamboat with all the die-hards coming out of the woodwork. I gotta admit it’s fun to attend film premieres in your own town…you know that it’s acceptable to bring your own beer, that the locals will scream and cheer on the movie and that after the movie you’ve got friends heading to the bars and will eventually find your way home safely. TGR is a ski/snowboard film with some great skiers and snowboarders. The snowboarders featured were Jeremy Jones, Victoria Jealous (who I must say got a lot of hoots from the men in the premiere) and Gigi Ruf. Steph and the gang checking people in for the raffle and selling tickets to the show You gotta get past this guy to get in…he’s tough The Steamboat Grand Hotel…a bit too nice but luckily they put up with us Tara and myself…Tara is a hard core tele skier.
I really wasn’t prepared for the large scale proportions of the entire night. First, it was at the Ellie Caukins Opera House, a place built for sound quality and a very large screen to watch the film on. Second, snowboarders whether dressed up or dressed normal packed the place. Third, the film was epic proportions and with the combined sound, location and people…it just made it better. I met up with friends to start the night at Rock Bottom and enjoy a good dinner before the film. I usually never run into people I know in Denver, but last night I ran into friends from Steamboat, people who used to live in Steamboat and people I see on the mountain or at SIA. I was able to meet new people as well that I’ve spoken with for the past couple months. I kind of felt bad for the Opera House, luckily they knew not to give us bottles of beer and we only disfigured a mannequin by the end of the night. The first floor jam packed before the film The bars were even more jam packed…there were 3 bars and each of them had a line before the film […]

I made my way into Denver yesterday to attend the Absinthe premiere of “Ready”, last years Absinthe “Optimistic” is one of my favorite movies to watch over and over because of the fun and epic riding and the people in it. On my way into town stopped by Never Summer to pick up some goodies. I may be a test rider but there is something sweet about getting to shop at a snowboard company. I came back with hoodies, t-shirts, hats and die-cuts. The film premiere was at the Starz Film Center in downtown Denver and I went with my friends Gary, Dina, and K at attend the film. We made it in and made sure to get our alcoholic beverages before heading down to the movie area. I was also able to meet and talk with Josh Smith who runs Absinthe PR side of things…big thanks for him for everything! Matt, JP and Romain signing posters for fans Marc Frank Montoya was also there signing autographs. My friend Dina asked who the pros were and when I said that was MFM, she replied with “he’s badass!” and so since he was a couple feet away he got to hear […]
