Intended Purpose: These women’s mittens have the warmth of a mitt with the flexibility of a glove. The inner fleece glove is touch screen compatible and perfect for varying temperatures. Location: I wore these throughout most of the winter in the Pacific Northwest at Stevens Pass, WA, Mt Baker, WA, Revelstoke, BC and Thompson Pass, AK. Conditions: I used these mittens on many powder days in the Pacific Northwest last season. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands and I’m wearing the large swany gloves which fit my hands just fine. Color: I received these mittens in the black multiple colorway which is mostly black with the exception of some crazy bright patterns on the gloves. I like that instead of the simple black, they offer some brightness in the design. Features: The Swany Toast 3N1 have an inner glove liner that does not shift or come out of the mitten when you pull your hand out. There is a side access feature on the mitten which allows for you to use the inner glove liner to grab things outside without taking off the glove nor getting your fingers cold. It’s a rad feature. Other features include a printed soft shell, […]

Intended Purpose: These women’s gloves are designed to be a pipe glove for spring conditions. But I disagree, they offer a warmer fit than I think pipe gloves should be. I consider them an all around glove that could be used on cold days and warmer days. Location: I’ve been wearing these gloves during the early season at Mammoth Mountain and on my Colorado and Utah trips. Conditions: I used these gloves on colder days and snowy days on the mountain (which have been few this year) and a couple warmer normal days on the mountain. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. I’m rocking the Fractures in the size large, they are a bit more material than I need so I’d probably go with the mediums next time. Color: I received these mittens in the torquoise colorway which has a mix of blues/green colors. It actually looks more green in person than the pictures show. I like that the gloves match the subtle green of my Oakley jacket. Features: The Fracture gloves feature a synthetic suede palm, pre-curved full finger grip, partially elasticized neoprene wrist and ladder stretch panels. The gloves are a screen printed 100% nylon with a 8,000mm/5,000gm […]

Intended Purpose: These women’s mittens are part of the Swany Toaster Collection that help generate heat to keep your hands warm. They have the warmth of a mitt with the flexibility of a glove. Location: I wore these throughout most of the winter at Mammoth and June Mountain. Conditions: I used these mittens on powder days and really cold weather days at Mammoth Mountain. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. I’m rocking the Arctic’s in the large size which fit perfectly, the mediums were a bit small when I tried them on. Color: I received these mittens in the white color option. There’s one small stain on them that’s noticeable, the rest of the glove are still pretty white. The palms have a black leather portion so gripping stuff holds tight. Features: The Swany Arctic is part of the Toaster Collection line. The outer shell generates heat through absorption of visible and infrared rays from the sun. It also reflects wearers infrared rays back to the hand. Sounds complicated huh, well basically it’s designed to keep your hands warmer through reflective materials. The mittens have an inner glove liner that does not shift or come out of the mitten when […]

Location: I’ve worn these gloves for most of January at Mammoth Mountain and a powder day at June Mountain Conditions: I’ve worn these gloves on a majority of sunny bluebird days with warm to colder temps but also on a powder day at June Mountain with colder temps and deep snow. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. I’m rocking the misty’s in the mens medium which fit but are looser than I’d like, the men’s smalls would fit me better. The good news is the mediums just have extra width room in the palm but the wrist room and finger length is fine on the gloves. Color: I bought these in the blue lagoon colorway which actually matches my snowboard pants (favorite color). The blue lagoon glove has blue/black palm with crazy designs of monsters, on the top of the glove is the celtek and a little monster (celtek dude) with the logo. They are bright, fun and playful…I like all three. Features: The Celtek Misty is a men’s pipe glove in the celtek line. The glove features a comfy four-way stretch nylon, […]

Location: I’ve been rocking these gloves in the early season at Mammoth Mountain in California. Conditions: I’ve worn these gloves on colder to snowy days on the mountain. The majority of time has been spent on snowy days with new powder. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. In Swany I fit into the women’s large gloves with a good fitting in the finger length and fit around my hand. It’s a good thing when both the inner and outer glove fit your hands good. Color: I received these gloves in the black color option which still have some bright checkered colors on the top portion of the glove but keep with the simplistic black design around the rest of the glove. Features: The harmony gloves feature a silicone soft-shell back and toaster finger free access with a removable iphone friendly digital finger tip system inner glove. The inner glove is a big highlight, you can take off your gloves easily to use your phone or take photos with your camera while still keeping your hands warm. The […]

Intended Purpose: The high 5’s never get old which means that the high 5 glove now comes in a mitt format for spring mitt conditions. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands and I’m rocking the high 5’s in medium which are a good fit in width of the glove and on the thumb. Features: The high 5 mitt’s feature a waterproof palm and breathable back hand with celebration high 5 grip on the palm. It’s a spring glove so not as bulky as a winter glove and offers water resistance so you stay drier on the mountain. Personally I think the high 5 palm is the best feature because it’s fun and gives out high 5’s but the waterproofing and breathability also helps big time for summer snowboarding. Durability: I have yet to find a spring glove that can hold up to the windells rope tow but the high 5 mitt’s last for most of the summer with the grip not wearing off in the palm. There’s some minor wear on the elastic wrist closure but all in all the mitts held up throughout the summer. Location: I spent the majority of time riding these in late season storms in Colorado. Conditions: I’ve worn these mittens on cold snowy days on the mountain, typically below 25 degrees. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands and am wearing a women’s large in these mittens. The fit is ideal and my fingers feel comfortable with the length especially my thumb length. Color: I’ve been rocking the Swany SX-31’s in black which make them a popular color choice but personally i like mittens with some attitude in the colorway. The black is the safe choice, I just hope I never set them down in the lodge because they’d be gone. Features: The Swany SX-31’s feature ottoman and honeycomb dryshell with a leathershield reinforced palm with flexshield. Basically giving the palm good grip that’s waterproof but with good range of movement in the hands. The insulation is a tri-plex insulation system, drifinger II insert and swany dry lining. The mitten is the most comfortable when you put your hands inside, super comfortable lining and a glove inside the fingers so you have separate sections […]

Location: I spent the majority of time riding these late season at Steamboat. Conditions: I’ve worn these gloves on cold to snowy days and warmer days on the mountain. They are ideal for the warmer spring days. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. In these gloves, they fit a bit longer in the fingers but the fit in the rest of the glove is fine. Definitely if you have longer fingers these are the gloves for you. Color: I’ve been rocking the Swany AX-26’s in mosiac which have a white/plaid and polka dot look to them. I like the plaid colors mixed with purple, blue, pink and green for keeping with a subtle to bright combination. Features: The Swany AX-26 gloves have a silicone printed soft shell-6125 with 3D mesh and silicone print amara palm. The silicone palm material is grippy which helps holding onto objects in your hand. I felt comfortable grabbing out my camera with the grip that the gloves offered up. The insulation is hipora W/B insert & charcoal/bamboo lining which really keeps the hands warm […]

Intended Purpose: Spring pipe glove for women on the mountain (MFR’s pro glove model) Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. In Rome gloves I fit a medium or large, the large is a bit easier to get into and looser but the medium is snug and ideal for a glove thats shaped perfectly around my hand. I’m rocking the MFR gloves in medium so a bit tighter, harder to pull off but perfect with my hand shape. Features: The best feature in my opinion is how they look and feel, really easy to slip on and take off when I need to. They have a 10 on the five finger freedom scale and I would agree, you have very good grip with them and feels like your riding without gloves because of how they fit and the material. In the palm is synLeather which adds for the grippage factor and other features are lycra sidewalls, velcro wrist closure and a must needed soft nose wipe panel. I definitely use the nose wipe for the runny nose days on the mountain. It’s the MFR glove so the design and style of MFR is there, it’s not your typical girly pink glove […]
