Currently Riding: one of the new BTX boards from Mervin Manufacturing Currently I am: wishing I wasn’t sitting at my desk Shay: Tell us a little bit about yourself Cedar: I grew up in Washington and went to college about 45 min from Mt Baker so I definitely had a lot of snow in my life! I started as a skier and switched to snowboarding at some point during college. Now I’m in southern California so I don’t see as much snow as I’d like, but I try to sneak off for a snowcat trip here and there and make the trek to Mammoth as often as possible. [singlepic id=12058 w=405 h=516 float=] Shay: How has snowboarding changed your life? Cedar: I’ve met so many great people through snowboarding! Making deep powder turns with just a handful of friends can change your life for sure. Shay: How did you get your start in the industry, who or what opened up more opportunities for you? Cedar: Good old fashioned hard work! I did a bunch of internships in college and just worked my way […]

The 2010 Industry Profiles composed of 35 individuals, from June to October every Tuesday and Thursday in an interview series that showcased various jobs within the industry. I started the Industry Profile series 3 years ago and since then countless companies, countless jobs and people from all different backgrounds have told their story in these interviews. The snowboard industry is full of amazing people, many you never hear about but they are the ones who help design, build, showcase and help run this industry. Their stories are told in each interview and for many of us wondering how to get into the snowboard industry, it gives you an idea of what it takes to make it. I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to submit the interview and share their thoughts. It’s remarkable to meet these people in person and I truly appreciate the effort all of them put into our world of snowboarding. It was great to see that the shorter interview format was accepted but as always suggestions are always welcome. Also I’d like to know which interviews/people you liked the most this summer, who do you remember after countless interviews and why? [singlepic id=5020 w=400 […]
