Long before this blog, I wondered about the people behind the snowboard brands, companies and ideas. Those questions turned out to become the Industry Profile series. For the past three summers, countless companies, jobs and people from all different backgrounds have told their stories in these interviews. The 2011 Industry Profiles composed of 33 individuals, from June to October every Tuesday and Thursday in an interview series that showcased various jobs within the industry. This summer I had the highest number of female interviews (eight women) inside the ski/snowboard industry and a higher amount of people switched jobs after their interviews. Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit an interview and share their thoughts. I truly appreciate the effort it took to share your story and make this happen. Thanks to everyone who read the interviews all summer long. I’d like to know which interviews/people you liked the most this summer, who do you remember after countless interviews and why? Also if you are ready for a new format of questions/interviews and your thoughts? Here are the 2011 Industry Profiles in case you missed them: Axis Media Founder Mike Basher Video Producer Tyler Malay AM Snowboarder Emily […]

The world of snowboarding has many names, faces, talents and ideas. These people aren’t the poster child of snowboarding, they aren’t making millions but they are the people behind the curtain making snowboarding fun. Somehow we’ve all been drawn to snowboarding, we’ve taken different routes to find our dreams and have ended up working in the snowboard industry. Each summer the Industry Profile Interviews take over to give a glimpse into the jobs, people and experience it takes to work in the snowboard industry. Starting in June, the series will continue on for 2011 and every Tuesday and Thursday you’ll find a new interview on shayboarder.com. There are people in every type of job, from every type of background who help contribute to the snowboard industry. If you know of someone in snowboarding who you think would be great to interview, leave a comment or email me shayboarder@gmail.com Here are the 2010 Industry Profiles in case you missed them… TGR Founder Steve Jones Sandbox & Whitegold Snowboards Owner Kevin Sansalone Frequency Director of Marketing & Advertising Matt Wibby Mountain Creek Marketing & Sales Manager Hugh Reynolds Moverati Sales & Marketing Manager Kyle Kennedy Pro Skier Dash Longe Rome Designer Shawn […]
