Today was the second twitter giveaway based in Portland, Oregon and the chance to win a 09-10 Lib Tech Skate Banana after 4pm when I started to give out clues to my location in Portland. I spent most of the day in Portland visiting Bonfire/Salomon, Yobeat and Holden. All three of those office tours will be blogged about later this week. During the day I also scouted possible locations to have the giveaway at and luckily no one followed me around all day. First huge thanks to Mervin Manufacturing for being part of the Giveaway and offering up a 09-10 Lib Tech Skate Banana! [singlepic id=6038 w=400 h=266 float=] I started tweeting out clues at 4pm (PST) right when I figured people could get off work but also hit traffic which made it tougher. The clues were: 1. I’m west of I-5 and North of I-405. 2. I’m near a street that was the name of a President. 3. Political science is all around me. 4. I’m near a place where if I got arrested I would go to. 5. I’m at Terry Shrunk and still not found. When I tweeted out the first and second tweets, I was sitting […]

Location: Copper, Colorado Snow Conditions: Bluebird with hardpacked groomers. Setup: I rode the Skate Banana with Union Forces and my Rome Vamps size 8. First Impression: It’s growing on me but I’m still so-so about it. Size: 156cm Weight: average Flex: The banana is a softer ride, softer torsionally which makes it easy to turn and the flex varies on size (smaller sizes are softer, bigger sizes are stiffer). Since I was riding the 156 it was stiffer than the smaller sizes of skate banana. Even with the softer flex of the banana, the btx helped it float in a couple inches of new powder without me needing to remain in the backseat. With BTX it’s not difficult to press the board and the skate banana was easy to press and butter with the softer flex through the board. Turning: The banana is super forgiving when turning, even if you caught in a hard place with it…it won’t make you pay for it. I encountered that at Copper where I should have eaten shit and a more aggressive board would have let me have it but the banana is just super forgiving. The mtx always gives it a good edge […]
