May’s been full of surprises on the mountain especially with the arrival of another storm in Mammoth over the weekend. I wasn’t feeling too good but couldn’t resist a couple turns on the mountain before the storm came in full force. [singlepic id=11676 w=1000 h=563 float=] This month I’ve had two awesome houseguests. Colorado rider Michelle Shea and my Windells roommate skier Keri Herman. It was awesome to hang out with Keri again and stoked to finally meet Michelle after hearing of her for a while. Plus it evens out the house, two skiers, two snowboarders now. [singlepic id=11677 w=400 h=711 float=] The riding was fun, the snow conditions were interesting on the mountain so we just cruised around enjoying it. Eventually made our way into the park despite the flat light conditions and cruised to the pipe for laps through there. [singlepic id=11678 w=1000 h=563 float=] I met Aussie Nosey earlier this winter and got to shred with him before he headed back home. Sad to see all the aussies leave town.
Today was the last day of Big Snow Bash which meant helping out the events crew with handing out shirts on the mountain. Lauren and myself hit up each of the main base areas, giving away Snowpowcalypse shirts to guests for the morning and early afternoon. [singlepic id=10550 w=500 h=281 float=] After we were done it was time to hit up the mountain for the end of day lunchbox session with Ashley. That’s what we call our park progression ride sessions. We lap the parks, pipes and whatever…just trying to get better. We started lapping Forest Trail, then hit up the Discopark on the beginner trail, then lapping the 22 foot pipe which is huge but has the best view on the mountain. [singlepic id=10549 w=300 h=414 float=] Ashley in the pipe. Today we did alley oops in the pipe which was fun! [singlepic id=10551 w=300 h=533 float=] Ended the day on a good note and headed home early to spend some time on the sun with the dog.
