It’s great way of life, there is always something that needs attention and always someplace new to go.
Each year the crew from Mervin’s Denver office takes to A-Basin for a day on snow with drinks, BBQ and games. Once I knew the date, I marked it off on my calendar and planned for the day off from work to come enjoy the festivities with friends. I made my way into Denver last night to stay at Dan’s house, stop by NS this morning and then head to A-Basin for a late morning/afternoon of shredding. Capita (my dog) came along for the ride. I arrived at A-Basin with enough luck to find a parking spot close to the tents and join in the festivities which included good drinks, food and people.
In June, I did a successful Birthday twitter giveaway where people tracked me down with twitter clues and the first person who found me won an 09-10 Never Summer Circuit-R snowboard. People mentioned how great it would be to have that same giveaway in other cities that I traveled to, so I set out in June to see what company would be willing to offer an 09-10 snowboard and be part of the shayboarder.com twitter giveaway fun. Portland is the next city I visit this year and the perfect choice for another shayboarder twitter hunt. The fine folks at Mervin Manufacturing offered up a 09-10 Lib Tech Skate Banana to make the hunt truly Northwest so it’s game on in Portland. Mervin Manufacturing is the brand behind C2 and BTX technology and create Lib Tech, GNU and some Roxy snowboards. This is the first year for C2 technology to hit the market from Mervin but BTX has been around for years in the Mervin lines. For 09-10, there are five models coming out of Mervin Manufacturing that will feature C2 Technology: Lib Tech Dark Series, Lib Tech Trice, GNU Billy Goat, GNU Danny Kass and GNU B-PRO. I’ve been able to try 3 of those boards that feature the new C2 technology and was able to try 2 of those boards when they were BTX. BTX [singlepic id=4857 w=400 h=124 float=] BTX also known as Banana Traction features a rocker banana between your feet and flat from inserts out to the contact points.
