After rolling into Park City late last night, today was the first of three days on the slopes. We decided to hit up Park City. Here’s the mini shred video from today’s riding at Park City Park City 3/13/09 from Shayboarder on Vimeo. It was a bluebird day out in Park City and remained in good temperatures, not too warm and not too cold. Steph from Park City Chamber graciously hooked up our tickets so we could ride and experience Park City this weekend. I hung out with her at SIA on day 1 and got to finally ride with her as the day progressed. We spent the first lap through the park near the parking lot, just getting familiar with my gear and getting back on snow. Zac and myself in the parking lot I was riding the Capita Saturnia with GNU agro bindings, but I hadn’t adjusted the agro’s to my boots yet so I ended up needing to switch out boards so I will try to ride them again after adjusting them.We spent the early afternoon riding and checking out the mountain on our own without a trail map. It was quite a day […]

Industry Profile: Park City Chamber Communications Coordinator Stephanie Nitsch Shay: Tell us a little bit about yourself Steph: I went to college in Seattle, and the winters are really grey and shitty there. My sophomore year, I decided to move to Park City and became a liftie during the winter quarter. I came back to Seattle for spring quarter and missed the liftie life, so I did it again the following winter. Between seasons, I worked at a snowboard shop called Marley’s (RIP) back in Seattle. At one point, I asked my boss, who was also involved with Signal Snowboards, to help me find an internship and burn a few credits for school. Next thing I know, I’m putting up sheetrock at an unpaid internship and helping to build the new Signal HQ. It’s been a ride ever since. Shay: What is your job title? Steph: Communications Coordinator for Park City Chamber/Bureau. Shay: Did your parents question your job choice? Steph: Oh yeah, my parents have questioned a lot of my job choices. In the end though, I know that this is the industry I live and breathe, and I don’t need to justify my decisions. I know that I’m […]
