Three years ago I made a decision that would forever change my life. I left my home state of Washington and moved to Colorado. It feels like forever ago that I moved and have adapted to resort town living. Resort town living is not for everyone, it’s a lifestyle that can bring out the best or worst in people. What’s important is to find a place that works for you, that gives you a fun environment to live in and see if you enjoy it. [singlepic id=5093 w=320 h=240 float=] The unknown is scary, moving away from your friends and family to a place where you know few people is tough. When I packed up my life in Washington, I was moving to Colorado without a place to live, without a job and in debt to make the move. Within a month I had all of those, the place to live came first and then the job and the debt eventually went away. That’s not to say that the first year wasn’t tough because it was but a lot of it was transitioning and moving on. By moving to a resort town, I happened to find friends who share the […]

I moved to the resort town for the snowboarding, everything else came with it. The people who come here on vacations, pay for the jobs and opportunities. Without them, we wouldn’t have new roads or new chairlifts. It’s a double edged sword, because it’s a resort town…it’s not cheap either. You pay a price to live here, while I live within walking distance to the slopes, I also pay higher prices in food, gas, everyday luxuries.
