Location: Winter Park, CO Snow Conditions: Hardpacked to softpacked groomers. Setup: I rode the Salomon Absolute Premium bindings on the YES Greats/Venture Helix with my Vans Ferra Boots size 8. Time to set up the binding: Pretty normal time to set up the bindings. Fit: I tried the Salomon Absolute Premium bindings in the medium size which were suitable to my size 8 boots. Good comfortable fit on the width and baseplate to my boots. First Impression: Responsive, comfortable and a toe strap I finally like. Appearance: They only come in White for the Absolute Premium bindings but I like the design since it’s a mix of white and purple with a subtle mint coloring in spots. I definitely like the look of the binding and the color choices bring out the flawless design. Comfort: Good comfort on the Absolute Premium bindings. The ankle strap is padded and molds very well to the boot without causing any pressure points. The toe strap didn’t have any problems and the padding in the baseplate helped absorb any rough bumpy terrain while riding. Functionality: The Salomon Absolute Premium bindings offer up a high end responsive binding for women. The baseplate is a transfer […]

Location: Winter Park, CO Snow Conditions: Hardpacked to softpacked to icy groomers. Setup: I rode the Salomon Absolutes on the Salomon Salomonder with my Vans Veil Boots size 8. Time to set up the binding: The bindings were quick to set up on the board. In hindsight I thought the toe strap was centered and adjusted properly but with the slipping, who knows. Fit: For the most part the binding fit my boot to perfection, good with the width on the baseplate, straps were centered and comfortable. First Impression: The absolutes are a super comfortable binding for the freestyle to mountain female rider. Appearance: If it wasn’t for the diamond and the writing it would have been tough to guess the gunmetal color of the absolute premiums was meant to be for the ladies. I like the black on it but the gunmetal coloring is kind of bland for a women’s binding. The binding rides better than it looks. Comfort: The absolutes had comfort dialed. The baseplate was padded and super comfortable ankle straps. Full EVA padding on the binding which helped it absorb the really bumpy terrain at the end of the day. I thought the bindings were the […]

Location: Keystone, Colorado Snow Conditions: Cold with hardpacked groomers and some choppy terrain. Setup: I rode the Salomon Absolute bindings on the Salomon Loft with my Vans Omni Focus boots. Time to set up the binding: Longer than average due to making the binding fit properly. Fit: It took about 3 tries to get the bindings to properly be fit to my boot and centered. Each time had to be taken off to fully adjust the binding. I still don’t think the toe strap fit my boot that well especially not looking at photos up close. First Impression: Please don’t have these ratchets stick like most Salomon ratchets stick. Ah not sticking…YES! Appearance: It’s white and cute. I like the ankle strap look but to me the toe strap just looks funny like a tube sock. Comfort: I found the ankle strap very comfortable once it was lined up to my boot. Molded to my boot and didn’t have any pressure points with my boots. The highback was softer, but very comfortable. The toe strap I felt I had to crank down so that wasn’t too comfortable for me. Functionality: Other than the lack of adjustibility on the straps, the […]
