Now that the 09-10 season has come to an end (with the exception of this summer at Mt Hood) I figured it was finally time to bring back the best of 09-10. The best of list is my way of commending boards I enjoyed riding this year, it’s not a board test but just a two thumbs up kind of list. For the 2009-2010 season I ended up riding over 70 snowboards, 64 of which were made into reviews. Of those 64 snowboards, 15 were women’s boards and 49 were men’s boards. I ended up riding 15 different bindings, 9 of which were women’s and 6 were men’s bindings. The majority of the gear reviewed was done during demo days around Colorado. These boards came from the 2009-2010 snowboard reviews section on my blog which goes more in-depth on each review. [singlepic id=9028 w=300 h=300 float=] I originally published the best of 09-10 in November but wanted to re-touch on this list, some stayed the same but there were some changes to the list. All-around Board Men’s: The Indoor Survival still remains the do-it all board for 09-10 for handling everywhere on the mountain. Women’s: The Never Summer Lotus-R is […]

The 2009-2010 season is well underway and I’m already surpassed 50 snowboard reviews for the 2009-2010 models that I feel confident putting out a “early season” best of list. Each year I demo, try and review boards for both men and women riders and the end process is boards that rode for a variety of riders, skills and progression levels. This isn’t meant to be a board test because I can’t ride every single board out there, it’s now just a Seal of Approval of what boards stand out from the reviews. The list now includes winners for both men’s and women’s as well as honorable mentions that I saw as close calls and runners up for the categories. Thanks to my facebook fan page readers for ideas on what to call my “best of list” and thanks to Kim came up with the Seal of Approval stamp design. These boards came from the 2009-2010 snowboard reviews section on my blog and more reviews will be coming this week as I start to push out the snowboard and binding reviews that I’ve been riding the last couple weeks.
As the 2008-2009 season winds down, I like to look back at the demo year to see what boards & bindings stood out from the pack. This isn’t meant to be a board test, because I don’t have the ability to ride every board out there so it becomes a list of products requested by readers and by me to check out. I try to ride boards that have interest or brands that are hard to get reviews on and stay clear from boards that I feel I will dislike. For 2008-2009 products, I rode 51 snowboards and 21 bindings. Of the 51 snowboards, 41 of those were mens and 10 were women’s. Of the 21 bindings, 15 of those were women’s and 6 of those were men’s. The majority of the boards and bindings were done on demo days, generally open to the public. I attend as many demo days in Colorado as I possibly can, for early 2008 I spent 6 days on snow riding boards at demos. [singlepic id=5662 w=400 h=300 float=] I’ve been trying to ride more and more women’s products each year to make it a fair review system. Unfortunately at demo days, there are […]
