Intended Purpose: These women’s mittens have the warmth of a mitt with the flexibility of a glove. The inner fleece glove is touch screen compatible and perfect for varying temperatures. Location: I wore these throughout most of the winter in the Pacific Northwest at Stevens Pass, WA, Mt Baker, WA, Revelstoke, BC and Thompson Pass, AK. Conditions: I used these mittens on many powder days in the Pacific Northwest last season. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands and I’m wearing the large swany gloves which fit my hands just fine. Color: I received these mittens in the black multiple colorway which is mostly black with the exception of some crazy bright patterns on the gloves. I like that instead of the simple black, they offer some brightness in the design. Features: The Swany Toast 3N1 have an inner glove liner that does not shift or come out of the mitten when you pull your hand out. There is a side access feature on the mitten which allows for you to use the inner glove liner to grab things outside without taking off the glove nor getting your fingers cold. It’s a rad feature. Other features include a printed soft shell, […]

It’s no secret that Rome Snowboards designs for the 100 day rider and it stays the same motto when it comes to their gloves. They continue to create gloves for a range of snowboarding days from the tough winters to the warm summers. For 11-12, Rome Gloves have a lot to offer with a variety of designs from the good old fashioned Rome looks to the alcohol inspired to those for the pros. The majority of Rome’s gloves feature drytac, a waterproof/breathable insert to keep those days on the snow lasting longer. Other features are flexible insulation for varying insulation depending on where the glove needs it most. My favorite feature is the soft nose wipe for those runny nose days. Pros LNP and MFR both receive pro models this year, the LNP in a glove and the MFR in a mitt. Rome Shred Life Mitt Features: 1.1 micro fleece on the palm side, waterproof, breathable drytac insert, synleather palm, knitted cuff with removable leashes. Flex=7. Feel=6. Sizing: XS-XL. Color: White [singlepic id=11624 w=500 h=800 mode=watermark float=] Rome Coozie Features: synleather palm, lycra sidewalls, velcro wrist closure, soft nose wipe panel. Flex=2. Feel=10. Sizing: XS-XL.
Intended Purpose: The high 5’s never get old which means that the high 5 glove now comes in a mitt format for spring mitt conditions. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands and I’m rocking the high 5’s in medium which are a good fit in width of the glove and on the thumb. Features: The high 5 mitt’s feature a waterproof palm and breathable back hand with celebration high 5 grip on the palm. It’s a spring glove so not as bulky as a winter glove and offers water resistance so you stay drier on the mountain. Personally I think the high 5 palm is the best feature because it’s fun and gives out high 5’s but the waterproofing and breathability also helps big time for summer snowboarding. Durability: I have yet to find a spring glove that can hold up to the windells rope tow but the high 5 mitt’s last for most of the summer with the grip not wearing off in the palm. There’s some minor wear on the elastic wrist closure but all in all the mitts held up throughout the summer. Location: I received these mitts earlier this winter so spent the remainder of the […]

A women’s undercuff glove/mitt with pile fleece insulation, an aquabloc ® insert and a combination soft-shell / stormguard outer, providing the ultimate in warmth, comfort, breathability and dexterity. These gloves are also 09-10 Drop Precious Gloves. Intended Purpose: Winter glove for women on the mountain. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. In drop gloves, I fit into the women’s medium. The glove stretches so I can fit my hand inside it. Once my hand is in the glove, it fits just fine. Not too much material, I have good grip with my hands and can hold onto objects through the gloves. Features: There is no inner liner glove, it does feature moisture wicking microfleece lining to keep your hands warm. I love the position of the nose wipe, making it soft and easy to wipe your nose when riding without hurting your face or turn your hand weirdly to get to it. The gloves so far have remained waterproof, warm and keep my hands comfortable while riding with the help of the aquabloc technology. There are finger pleats for dexterity making it easy to use the hands and fingers when riding. The gloves fit right under my jacket with no […]

Intended Purpose: This is a spring weather glove. It is meant for temperates from 25 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 Degrees Fahrenheit. Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. I’m currently sporting the men’s medium in the Mustacheo’s which fit, but are a little loose in spots. The Mustacheo fit lets it expand to hands, but does not have a way to tighten it like velcro…so getting a close size is necessary. Features: With the Mustacheo gloves, you get two stashes to use depending which index finger you put up: One is the straight line and the other features a curled stashe. Durability: The mustacheo features a variety of materials, the shell is stretch corded nylon and the palm is silicon printed grip clarino. I like the soft material from the base of the glove to the thumb, allowing for those wipe your nose moments on the mountain. The palm is a mixture of hard and soft but lets you grip things well. I had no problem holding one glove on the chairlift feeling confident I wouldn’t lose it. Location: I received the gloves late in May to try out in spring conditions at A-Basin, Colorado.
When I first learned how to snowboard, I would only wear gloves because I could never ratchet up my bindings with mitts. Well eventually that changed and now I prefer mitts unless it’s spring riding when I wear pipe gloves. I usually buy new gloves each year, this year I plan to pick up some Defcon gloves and another pair of POW gloves. All of my 3 sets of gloves, I have spent a lot of days in each of them so I feel pretty confident in doing a glove review on them since they are all well used. I find it best to have at least 2 gloves for varying conditions, spring/summer gloves and winter gloves. Burton Profile Mitt (Womens) Sizing: True to size Pros: Fleece liner, nose wipe and the danglers so I can take my gloves off but they still stay around my wrist, decent grip but not on the thumb. Cons: The liner is not removable. As much as I like that it doesn’t pull out…it also never gets cleaned which means my gloves smell funky. Best Uses: Cold winter days. My thoughts: These are the gloves I wear the most now during the winter, after […]
