Yes, that is the real name, which was changed from Manchester by its residents some years back so we could be “different” from all the other Manchester’s in the world. I know, ridiculous, right? Anyways, I grew up snowboarding a small mountain in western Mass called Bousquet where I originally skied for seven years. My grandfather was an instructor and wasn’t stoked when I flipped to “the dark side” at the ripe old age of ten. I ended up at UMass Amherst where I found myself riding the “big” mountains of the East Coast and helped run the UMass Ski and Snowboard Club. Which was basically a club that subsidized the price to ride and party all winter. Bonus! After college I traveled through Central America because why the hell not. Surfed a bunch, partied way to hard and generally enjoyed the third […]

I’ve gone through the Good Wood and the Best Of which means it’s onto the final test brought to you by Snowboard Magazine with their annual Platinum Pick. The Platinum Pick test took three of Snowboard Magazine’s editors as the testers (1 female Tawyna Schultz and 2 males, Nate Deschenes and Chris Owen) who ride different terrain to judge the boards to find winners. The result is the best of the best according to Snowboard Mag. The Platinum Pick methology is unclear in the article so you don’t know how many boards were brought to the table or what the conditions are. [singlepic id=6296 w=227 h=205 float=] I’ve ridden 6 of the 14 boards so far and would definitely […]
