Intended Purpose: The sleek smaller frame of the Spy Bias meets the fashion mavens at Les Ettes for a fun signature model. The Spy + Les Ettes Bias is packed full of Spy’s features like Carl Zeiss vision and Scoop ventilation system with fresh matte accents, a signature multi-colored polka dot strap and “you stink” on the back clip. Location: I wore the goggle at Heavenly, Mammoth and June in California. Conditions: Majority of sunny bluebird days on the mountain. Color: I received the Bias in the Les Ettes signature collaboration. It’s the look of the Bias with the influence of Les Ettes. Personally I’m not familiar with Les Ettes but I really love the polka dot design and back-buckle that says “you stink!” (see photo below for example). I think it’s a really fun goggle design that has a girly look to it without being flowers and pink. Lens: The Bias goggles came with the bronze green spectra lens. I really like the look of the lens and it helps with those sunny days to block out the sun and give you good visibility of the snow conditions even on some cloudy days. Fit: Each time I’ve tried the […]

Intended Purpose: The Spy Soldier’s combine sophistication, clean designs and superior optical performance to handle the mountain with. Location: I rode these goggles at the WWSRA Mammoth on-snow and then continued to ride them in February conditions. Conditions: I’ve spent the majority of time riding these goggles on sunny bluebird days and the occasional overcast day. Color: I checked out the Spy Soldier’s in the black colorway which is a simple black frame with the black strap and grey-ish SPY logo on the strap. It’s a simple color choice for goggles, the lens help brighten it up so it’s not completely dull in colors. Lens: I believe I’ve been riding in the light blue and gold flash lens (but might be mistaken on this). The lens does good on sunny days (but it’s not a mirror so doesn’t block out all the sun). It does enough but it’s also capable of riding in the less than sunny conditions. Fit: I wasn’t sure how the apx’s would do with fit on my face but the goggles actually were secure and fitting around my nose without having an extra space. They were a large peripheral fit and definitely a noticeably bigger goggle […]

Intended Purpose: The Trevor goggle offers a comfortable blend of features and affordability for the snow conditions on the mountain. Location: I started riding these goggles at Steamboat in the late season. Conditions: Mostly overcast, flat light and snowy conditions on the mountain. Some rare bluebird days with them. Color: I received the Trevors in the grey-denim acid wash frame design which I find hilarious having acid wash goggles that actually look good. Usually when you think acid wash, you might cringe at the thought of the jeans but Spy made them look as good as they feel on the mountain. The strap is plain black with SPY on the sides in the same grey-ish color as some of the frame. Lens: The trevor goggles came with the persimmon lens which I find ideal for all around riding, especially in powder to overcast conditions on the mountain. I have good visual on the snow changes when riding and helps with those non-bluebird days of seeing exactly where I need to go. On the bluebird days, I’d prefer a more mirrored lens that helps block the sun out better. Fit: The Trevors are described as a flexible frame that conforms to […]

Intended Purpose: The Spy Bias is designed for smaller faces with a reduced frame size and feature a sleek, low profile goggle for female riders to make their snowboarding experience better fitted and more fun. Location: I started riding these goggles here in Steamboat during our snow drought. Conditions: I’ve spent the majority of time riding these on bluebird sunny days and some flat light overcast conditions. Color: I received the Bias in the elements color/frame which has a mix of colors on the goggle and the strap reminds me of a high school letterman’s jacket with the variety letter padding. It’s kind of an eclectic look to a women’s goggle but it doesn’t bother me for looks. Lens: I’ve been rocking the bias goggle in the rose with silver mirror lens which are ideal for sunny days on the mountain. We have a lot of sunny days in Colorado so this works for the conditions, on the overcast to flat light days the lens does okay but isn’t ideal for those. Fit: It was better than I remembered from last time, even though the frame is smaller than I need for my face the fit around my nose was […]
