As Superpark was starting the wind down, the vibe was changing on the mountain to a much more relaxed, shred, have fun and get the last shots/filming done. Most of the riders who weren’t wrecked or hungover, took to the slopes to get their final shots. The day went by quickly and it wasn’t long before the runs were quiet. The 100 footer at the base has been noticeably popular and constantly with a range of riders and tricks taking to the jump. It’ll be rad to see all the footage from Snowboarder Magazine come out. Props to Snowboarder Magazine for hosting such a big event and working their asses off this week to get everything done. For the afternoon, I got in touch with Cooper from Never Summer to join along with the boys and were able to watch some of the Lib Tech, Technine and Never Summer riding on the Seven Springs step down jump. I carpooled down with Andy Bergin-Sperry and finally got to see him go huge on day 5 of camp. Zimmerman is on the lip getting a much better shot. Carving out snow is easy, just take a bunch of pro riders and have […]

Superpark has been going strong all week long with daily shred stoke, massive features and tons of invited pros that make everything look easy. Day 4 was a long day for many riders as the week was starting to catch up but those willing to keep upping the stakes proved it with another day of massive hits. Day four started with a couple laps through the park before stoppeing on the Loon hip to put the gear down and catch a hip session go down. Probably the biggest most ballsy move was the Worm (Garrett Warnick) completely airing over the entire hip. He landed it. Probably the funniest moment of the day is sitting with Dale watching Russell Winfield hike up and hike up again but we kept missing him hitting the hip. We joked that he must have ridden through the trees cause no one saw him. So Russell made sure we didn’t miss his next drop. He yelled at us from up top and waved us down so we could watch him hit it. The reason we didn’t see him, we thought he was another Capita rider in a red Capita hoodie. I guess someone yelled out “dude’s […]

Superpark 16 is well underway at Mt Bachelor with invited pros, massive features and plenty of action going on around the mountain. Day three continued with the trend of riders going big, bigger and getting creative. With the help of four parks: Mt Bachelor, OR, Seven Springs, PA, Loon Mountain, NH and Boreal, CA there are more than enough features to play on and photographers to get the shot. The day started with catching up with my old Mammoth roommate, Matt Patti from Arbor and I joined in with the Arbor guys for the day to get shots of the team on a variety of features from the massive Seven Springs cheese wedge to the Mt Bachelor hip/bonk/jib and back to the Seven Springs butter box jib section. So far the Superpark experience has been insane. The level of riding here is only the best, the park features are taken care of and this isn’t your normal mountain riding. For me, it’s been an experience that I’m still in awe of. Sometimes you just wanna stand there and watch without looking through a lens. How often do you get to see this many big names taking to the air and […]

What happens when you bring talented and creative park builders, pro riders and media together in one place? A park riders dream full of park pleasure for the taking. This year marks the 16th year of Superpark and plenty of talent are in the house at Mt Bachelor to stomp tricks, make videos and get the shots. Thanks to Pat Bridges, I’m here at Superpark for my first year to watch, take pics and blog about the event (hopefully up to his standards). And really it’s the event that you want to be at; It’s the best riders, in a perfect park, ready to throw down. Just sitting on the sidelines watching run after run, cork, spin, tweaked grab…is endless fun. These massive features were created and built by four different parks around the US: Boreal, CA, Loon Mountain, NH, Mt Bachelor, OR and Seven Springs, PA. The result is a dream park for the invited pros, a park where every feature is perfection. Creativity is unleashed in the feature designs and pros are hungry for the chance to prove themselves. And certainly when you have Pat Bridges looking over your riding, you better be riding your best. The morning […]
