I’ve known for 5 months that this time would come and it’s unfortunate but something that’s gotta be done. I wrote about the surgery last month in preparation for it because it would end my season early for Colorado. The surgery is pretty minor, but there are always risks involved and because it’s near my organs I’m more nervous about it than I was for knee surgery. Recovery is quick and I’ll be back to 100% in six weeks. I’ll be pretty miserable for the next couple days so be patient with me replying to comments/emails. On a positive note, I’ll be high as a kite for the next couple days so it’s probably good that I won’t be replying to comments/emails. [singlepic id=4845 w=400 h=300 float=] I do want to thank everyone for the support and well wishes. I’ll use this post to update my recovery. I certainly don’t want to take over my snowboarding blog with icky chick surgery stuff…soo just check back here. Update 5/20/09 3pm: Well I had surgery today, was at the hospital at 6am and surgery at 7:30am. I didn’t even get to countdown because the last thing I remember is […]

I had planned to wait until after the A-Basin season and after my birthday to go in for surgery. Unfortunately life happens and today I made the decision to get the surgery in mid-May, earlier than later. I found out in early 2009 that I had a cyst on my ovary, typically cysts go away but after a month mine was still there. Now after a couple months it’s still there but now the ovary is having another issue with it. Every woman has two ovaries, so I’ve been warned that this surgery might include a Oophorectomy surgery which is removal of the ovary. The surgery would also look for scar tissue that has been causing me soreness. I’ve been riding for months and if I took a fall, I’d be sore on my lower stomach or deal with pain from it. Until I go in for surgery I won’t know how serious it is or if anything further needs to be done. [singlepic id=4845 w=400 h=300 float=] I’m a 25 year old female snowboarder and while I’ve been through knee surgery…sometimes you don’t get so lucky with things that happen to you. I’ve been reading up on my surgery and […]
