It may be June in Oregon with summer just around the corner but today winter paid a visit with cold temps and weather on Timberline. The mountain opened up the lower chairlifts and created a mini park for camp so we could hit up the mountain today despite the weather. A bit cloudy walking up to Timberline [singlepic id=9305 w=300 h=400 float=] The lower mountain park set up for Windells today included 2 lines of rails and jumps [singlepic id=9306 w=400 h=300 float=] Staying dry was the most important thing on the mountain today, cold temps and some rain made the slopes slow and wet [singlepic id=9307 w=400 h=300 float=] The rainy northwest weather did make for a perfect evening at Windells to win some free swag from Sessions. Nick Visconti and Tim Humphreys did the Mud’n’blood contest where campers raced through the natural mud course and basically got really really muddy to win a free outerwear set from Sessions. [singlepic id=9309 w=400 h=267 float=] One of the campers getting caught on film with sticker shades [singlepic id=9308 w=400 h=267 float=] The soon to be winner of the outerwear ran fast and got muddy in order to win the Sessions […]

Session 1 at Windells Camp is in full swing and today was the first on-snow day of camp. The weather cooperated and despite some cloud coverage on Timberline, most of the day offered up bluebird skies. [singlepic id=9273 w=400 h=300 float=] I met up with some of the staff in the parking lot and ended up riding with Steph one of the counselors to get our morning shred on. The lower chairlift had some of the best snow where you could make fresh turns in perfectly soft snow which were perfect for warming up today. [singlepic id=9272 w=400 h=300 float=] After getting some warm-up laps in, we headed to the top of Palmer to make our way to the Windells Camp park on the mountain. It’s a private park for just campers and staff but even still the mountain is empty except for Windells right now. The park is coming along, today was fun to see the features and set up for session 1. [singlepic id=9278 w=400 h=300 float=] Staying above the clouds for most of the day [singlepic id=9271 w=400 h=300 float=] This summer at Windells there are two rope tows for the park, today’s lower rope was set […]

It’s been a rainy past week in Oregon but today the sun came out full scale for a great day on the mountain. I woke up at 9am, got my gear together quickly and headed up to the mountain with Johnny from camp. A bunch of the staff was up shredding since today was a down day before session 1 starts tomorrow. There’s few mountains that impact me the way Mt Hood from Timberline does, on the drive up when you first glimpse the whole mountain from the highway and the first chairlift ride of the day that just pumps you up for the fact you are riding a mountain in summer. It’s June 5th and I’m riding with tons of snow to last this summer! [singlepic id=9246 w=300 h=400 float=] I enjoyed the shred today, snapped a couple shots but also worked on the nerve to get back into park riding. The public pipe and park is set up at Timberline with a variety of features but definitely features that push me at my riding level. I ended up going for the up box today and going to keep riding it. Today was the first day to get up […]
