Another sunny day on the mountain without the winds howling, conditions were soft and parks were good for lapping on my lunch break. I headed out with the skier to get some shots of him in Main Park on the rails and pipe, and get some laps on Forest Trail so I could hit the jump line. Today I mounted up the NS SL for some laps, that reviews coming up and just wanted to ride it again before I start typing up the review. Forest Trail top jump and down pipe [singlepic id=11007 w=500 h=281 float=] The skier doing a truck driver in the 22 foot super pipe at Main Lodge [singlepic id=11008 w=500 h=281 float=] It’s going to be a busy rest of the week so was glad to get in some shred time…back to work the next two days before having the weekend off!

The storm took off and the sun came back out in Mammoth for a tuesday shred session. I headed out for a couple lunch laps with the skier to enjoy the soft snow and sunshine on the mountain. It’s hard to stay inside all day when the mountain is just outside the doors and it feels so good to lap the nearby lifts quickly. The skier and myself [singlepic id=11004 w=500 h=281 float=] We made a couple laps in South Park hitting the 18 foot pipe and the jib park (which is a bit above my level). I always take out the photo for capturing the skier since he hits the bigger rail lines than I do. A couple laps in Main Park were perfection with the park set up the same from Grand Prix slopestyle. They haven’t changed a thing and that means everyone can ride the course that was in Grand Prix.
It’s been busy back at Mammoth but getting out on a ride break at lunch always make the day better. I headed out for a couple laps with Ashley, Jade and a couple others. It was a beautiful day on the mountain and perfect for laps through the South Park pipe, Art Park and mini Park. Jade getting some air in South Park [singlepic id=10731 w=1000 h=667 float=] Pretty quiet day for taking pictures on the mountain but all in good fun just being out enjoying turns.

What a day! Earlier this week, we found out that the marketing team would be able to ride Stomping Grounds today to get a taste of the AcroBags. I hadn’t hit an airbags since Windells Camp this summer and even then it was only a couple times. I was excited and then nervous to hit the acrobags. I’ve wanted to since we have the whole new Stomping Grounds park at Mammoth but since I’m not training to do any crazy jump tricks, I didn’t think there was a point to start hitting them yet. Yeah I was wrong, just the adrenaline and fun of going big into the airbag was a blast. Joani Lynch, Director of Marketing & Communications at Mammoth landing in the AcroBag [singlepic id=10537 w=1000 h=563 float=] To warm up, Ashley and I hit up Forest Trail to just jump on the snow and then headed to Stomping Grounds after 9:30am when it opened up. Helmet required of course at Stomping Grounds, liability waiver signed and either $5 for one hit or $20 for a day ticket. A bunch of the marketing team ended up hitting it: Joani, Craig, Geoff, Dan, Katy, Ashley and myself. Others cheered […]
