Job Title: Barista, Competitive Snowboarder Employer: Right now I work at Cool River Coffee House in Breckenridge. Years on snow: Since the new millenium. I think. Days on snow: Over 100 days. Currently Riding: 147 Bataleon Distortia, Flux Titans Currently I am: Waiting for A-Basin to open! Then Keystone, then Copper, then Breck. Come on snow! Shay: Tell us a little bit about yourself Emily: I just turned 23 this summer and I recently moved back to Breckenridge, CO. I spent the summer working as an overnight counselor at Woodward at Copper so I got to snowboard pretty much every day in their Catalyst terrain park. I have an associate’s degree in Marketing but I don’t really use it (no desk job for me right now). Instead, I spend my time following the snow and working at coffee houses. Pretty much I want to stay happy, have fun and snowboard as much as I can. My dream is to one day find a career that lets me snowboard and use my degree. We’ll see what this year has in store! [singlepic id=12392 w=300 h=400 float=] Shay: How has snowboarding changed your life? Emily: In high school, snowboarding became my life. […]

When I received the invitation to join Dragon Optics at Woodward at Copper during their camp session, I knew I couldn’t turn down such a fun opportunity to check out the camp and the team. A huge thanks to Alex Pashley for inviting me and letting me have a great first time at Woodward. This morning bright and early I made the trek to Copper, met up with Dragon Optics to spend the morning on-snow at the park and the afternoon indoors at the Barn. Along for the ride was Alex Pashley, Madison Ellsworth, Josh Sherman, Chad Otterstrom, Erich Dummer and Aaron Dodds. We later met up with Pat Moore who surprised everyone by being there. Everyone was super rad and chill to be around, it was fun just taking it in. [singlepic id=4921 w=400 h=300 float=] I made a video for the day with some outdoor footage and a whole lot of indoor footage so you can see exactly what Woodward looks like and what there is to offer. The indoor jump footage is fun to check out and if you stay till the end of the video you’ll get the unedited fun of Braveheart.
