Sneak peak at 09-10 Lib Tech

For the Lib Techies out there, I hate to be a tease but yesterday I got to glimpse the 09-10 Lib Tech line up for snowboards.  Here’s your glimpse to the photos from SIA.
In the fall most products for the next season are done being designed and being cleaned up, by January they’ll have them ready for show at the SIA Tradeshow and already on the pro riders and testers. By the next fall they will hit the stores and in your hands. So right now companies are finishing up the designs for the 09-10 season.

Obviously I am not allowed to put up any photos at this time but I can write about what I have seen coming out from Mervin in 2009-2010.

Here’s just some things I noticed after checking them out.

  • Skate Bananas: Expect more colors. Don’t just settle for yellow bananas…there’s more colors coming along the woodwork.
  • There is something new coming out in Bananas…it’s almost magical. What that means…only a magician knows or the crew at Lib Tech (and i’m not one of them).
  • Travis Rice: Birds of a Feather flock together.
  • Jamie Lynn Phoenix: blue girl progresses in the art graphic seeing her from a different angle and a little more discreet…tit for tat.
  • Lando Phoenix: He’s no pussy.
  • TRS: Stands out from the others, funky robotic, electronic, inter-galatic.
  • Skunk Apes: Reminds me of “The Scream” but with way cooler art.
  • A new Box Scratcher to the mix after a well deserving rider. The best part about it…it stays true to the Northwest offering up a damn fine collaboration between two companies.

I haven’t seen it yet, but I have heard about something new added to GNU giving them their own snowboard named after a type of food. For the GNU fanatics, you’ll get your own food for 09-10.

I’ll keep you guys updated when I can release some of the goods…until then savor 2008-2009 stuff.

    Shay,

Can you please elaborate more on this cause I am really curios, is that a new technology again?

I bet the magic is some kind of convex base or uplifted edges, at the nose or entirely – it’s the only thing missing from the Lib’s/Gnu’s.

Well, shay, you *could* tell us if it’s NOT.

    Please?

Aww thats awesome what you said about the colors on the skate banana… thats probably one of the main things i didnt like about it (what can i say graphics do matter to me). cant wait to see the goods.

Question; how is it that you saw this? Just randomly saw someone on it or what?

Magic Banana is not the Gnu Park Pickle asym design. Magic Banana = Poor man’s Cygnus X1

I know I know…I’ve been being good with not releasing photos until permission.

SIA is approaching so lots of 09-10 photos then!

It is a asym banana, Park Pickle. Trice blunt shape, pickle graphic and blended core to create a softer flexing heel edge. Should be sick, I rode Burton asyms for both years they had ’em and they ripped.
And for further clarification Gnu was running The General Joe at the same time (it was a traced version of the Asym Air from the big B) and they didn’t get it from Santa Cruz who is still in business.
    What’s old is new again!
