Riding Journal

Loveland 10/18/09

The last day of the weekend and my last day for shredding before traveling meant heading back down to Loveland for another day on the slopes.  It was quite the journey to shred this morning with plenty of pit stops on the way but we eventually made it for a beautiful sunny day on the slopes.

Our riding crew was the Click’s Philip, Sonny, Tony, Tony and myself.  I really wanted to force myself to ride the park today especially since these guys were hitting the features, it was enough to make me start to try again.

When we showed up there were some lines but no more than a couple minutes and as the afternoon went on, there was barely anyone on the mountain so we had the runs and park to ourselves.

The park was a lot of fun today with the three features:  Rainbow box, Cbox and flat box.  I took photos of the guys as they rode each one and finally I hit the flat box for the first time this season.

Philip took the camera and got some shots of me snowboarding today.  It was the first day I tried to hit the rails at Loveland and a definite step up from the mini-boxes I’ve been focusing on.

Never call last run…today I did it in my head and the last run through the park down the mountain I totally ate it off the flat box, nose dived and tumbled off the rail which knocked the wind out of me.  My side is a little bruised and once I caught my breathe I felt better…but definitely a rough way to end the day.

snow looks fun. so jealous. Calling last run doesn’t work for skating or surfing either.

Ben, definitely was fun with the snow conditions. Yeah last run calling is eh…I should have known better but totally figured I could do it.

Paris, Not sure how much tickets are right now but it’s early season prices. I just emailed you a coupon that usually is online but it’s not yet…good deal and should work for you. I won’t be around next weekend since I’ll be in California but the weekend after, would definitely love to meet up and ride!
