Last Monday I announced the Limited Edition 686/New Balance Contest for a chance to win new snowboard boots and a pair of shoes. For the shoes, it just required a comment and whoever matched the shoe size we were giving away would be entered to win. For the boots you had to be a little more creative and decorate your feet, which would be judged by Kristin from 686 and myself to come up with two winners.
We ended the contest on Sunday night with over 100 entries for the shoe contest and some really great feet designs for the boot contest. It was a hard choice to pick a winner since so many people had funny designs.
A huge thanks to 686 for offering up their limited edition kicks and we had great response from everyone who entered the contest!
Limited Edition NB686 Snowboard Boots WINNERS!!!
May the prettiest foot win is the motto for the boot contest and it was up to you to art your foot up and take a photo of it. Two winners would take home snowboard boots in their sizes from 9-11 including halfs.
The two winners for the 686/New Balance snowboard boots are:
1st Winner: Martin Beran with his 686 halfpipe and shayboarder.com custom board shredding it
2nd Winner: James Allen Davis with his rainbow foot
NB686 Super Nova Shoe Winner!!!
For the shoes, we had 19 people that matched the shoe size 9 so all those names were written down, put into a bowl and we drew one name that would take home the shoes.
The winner for the 686/New Balance Limited Edition shoes is:
Lil Brother who left a comment with his size 9 shoes!

Thanks Shay & Kristin, to be honest, I didn’t think/wasn’t sure I was gonna’ win. I was hoping to of course, but after reviewing all the entries myself, I thought for sure Zakk the Bear’s was gonna’ win. It’s a little over the top, but it made me smile & think that if I was you (a girl), I’d say, “That’s cute!”. It was definitely very creative & took some time & effort to do. I meant to have gold glitter on my foot as well, but I couldn’t find it once I got home, so I had to go without. Anyway, I like Martin’s also ’cause it’s something I don’t think anybody would think of, conceptually, & it’s definitely very boardridery. The one that I thought would take 2nd or maybe mine, was BurritoAndSnow’s Unicorn. After thinking about it for awhile though, I realized it was kind of cliche, rainbows & unicorns are usually pictured together…, not that I ever thought of that, but it’s true. The Foot-a-corn made me almost laugh & again was quite a concept, but I thought it was more corny/”trippy” than anything, but like I said, conceptual nonetheless. Anyway, I’m stoked to know that you 2 picked me as a winner. I didn’t really feel like “looking gay” for nothing, as a guy, since I’m not, but the theme was “pretty/beautiful” foot/feet. Rainbows really are pretty & beautiful. It’s just a shame that they’re used as a symbol for being B,G,L, or T nowdays. Anyway, thanks a lot! The boots will definitely go to good use. This year’s over for me, but next year’s still waiting, hopefully. Until then, later, peace! NEW BALANCE!! ;o)
