CAIC Benefit Bash

Colorado Avalanche Information Center held their Benefit Bash last Saturday in Breckenridge to help bring in funds for this upcoming year to keep backcountry awareness a high priority.

Frequency Magazine was a sponsor and I helped cover the event for their “What Up” column.

The Benefit Bash featured live music, silent auction, tons of giveaways and lots of people there. By the time Joel, Bru and I arrived it was jam packed.

Enjoy a Breckenridge Brewery beer while you educate yourself on Avalanches

Twenty dollars got you in the door, 3 rounds of beers, food and a chance to win a door prize of many goodies. Being able to support a good cause, drink beer and get food is a win-win for everyone. I became the designated driver so I enjoyed one beer and passed the coupons on to friends. The prizes in the Silent Auction were incredible. I walked around the table and there were so many things to choose from that anyone would want.

The Breck Skateboard

Whether it was a Nitro Misfit snowboard, Breck skateboard or sweet cat trips…I wished I could win them all. I did bid on photographs and Joel bid on lodging in Breckenridge, which he actually won and we’re all gonna share it to enjoy shred time at Breckenridge.

Joel bidding

The band played all night

As the night went on it was time to enjoy the door prizes, I took photos on stage for CAIC to have. I got to watch the hands waving for swag or winners rushing to the stage to collect their prizes.
Joel snapped this picture of me as the night went on. It was one of those “hand me the camera” moments. I was the designated driver for the night, which was a smart choice since a cop followed me on part of the drive and went for the car in front of me.

It was a really fun time and it was great to support CAIC. The people helping out were very nice and glad to assist them with my photos from the night. I really look forward to our sweet lodging prize we won.
