Shay Update: Roadtrip!

Every couple years I enjoy a good road trip because it allows me to visit a bunch of people on one trip but also it lets me really think about my life.  I could lie on a beach in Hawaii drinking Corona but that never has the same effect as being forced to endure long hours in the truck, listening to songs that remind me of all the decisions I’ve made and thinking about them deeply.  So needless to say, it’s been time for a roadtrip in my life and I’m taking it finally.

I’ll be departing Colorado this friday and starting the trek back to Washington state where I’ll be arriving by Saturday just in time for the Ride Shakedown contest at Summit at Snoqualmie.  Stoked on the timing!  I’ll be spending the weekend in Seattle to see my family before I hit the road again on Monday to make my way down I-5 where I’ll end up visiting a friend in Eugene, then continuing onto Northern California to spend valuable time with my grandparents for a couple days.  Then I’ll be heading east to Park City, Utah where I’ll be getting in some much needed shredding time after that much driving and finally back home in Steamboat by next Sunday.

It’s a total of 3,000 miles according to google maps, time spent with family that is much-needed and see friends along the way.  I’ll have limited internet access during my drive times but I’ll be checking in from the road and posting daily like normal, just harder to get ahold of for questions.

Hope you can find a way to drop in @ Boreal on your way from NorCal to Park City. It’s a small hill but has an amazing set of park/pipe features. Right @ top of Donner Summit adjacent to I-80.

Michael, I’m definitely considering it. It’ll depend on how much time I have and what time I go over the pass to head to UT.

    Gags, thanks!
